Morning Shots: Hotel Interior:

When we receive an assignment to photograph a hotel interior, the perfect time is at dawn.

The sky still holds the tail of evening, lending that deep cobalt blue just before sunrise. That light is unique — cool, even, and forgiving — and it wraps the space in a way artificial light cannot replicate. It adds depth to glass, richness to textiles, and a quiet atmosphere that reads as both restful and sophisticated.

Dawn also brings practical advantages. Housekeeping and operations have finished their preparations and the hotel is at its calmest. Surfaces are immaculate, public areas are staged, and staff are in place to assist without the pressure of arriving guests. This window lets me capture clean, composed images that feel intentional rather than interrupted.

These shots are from a Hilton in Houston, Texas. You’ll notice the balanced exposure between interior color accents and the cool exterior sky, careful use of perspective to emphasize volume. More to come.
