One of the first spaces we photographed at Yorktown Reserve was this lounge — a beautiful, comfortable private room with direct access to the outdoor patio and pool. Designed for family gatherings or intimate private parties, the space features a fully stocked kitchen and bar, fine leather seating, and layouts ideal for conversation, relaxing, or viewing movies and sports.
The coffered ceiling above the bar and the kitchen cabinetry, along with the wall unit that houses the television and entertainment storage, are all by EGGER Wood Product. Their craftsmanship contributes to the room’s refined, high-end character.

We spent a couple of days working with Trade Marketing Specialist Ashantia Wright, assisted by Mai, who flew in from the North American corporate offices to Chicago to showcase their fine wood products in two commercial projects. After scouting and staging the day of, they meticulously prepped each space, which let us efficiently photograph three high-end apartments, the common and recreational areas, and a large foyer all in one long day. Picking up with this Sensational project by Key Interior Design, led by Director of Design Debby Hill with Senior Designer Jess Bustos and Technical Designer Katherine Burnor. This team — arguably the finest commercial interior design firm working today — has delivered a space that proves the claim.
Color is used with precision and restraint, creating visual rhythm while reinforcing distinct programmatic zones. Sound-deadening partitions and treatments are integrated as design features rather than afterthoughts: the anechoic ceiling in the main conference room and the decorative acoustic wall panels both enhance the room’s aesthetic and dramatically improve speech privacy and sound quality. The glass wall offers frosted privacy at the touch of a button, marrying transparency and discretion with seamless, modern technology.
The result reads like a newly built, cutting-edge office: contemporary, refined, and highly functional. A stellar design by any measure — one of our favorite shoots this year. More to come.
This elegant den in an Upper North Side Chicago condo recalls an era when refined style and luxury were the standard. Handcrafted moldings, a marble fireplace, rich hardwood floors and generous built-in bookcases create a timeless backdrop. A concealed wet bar reveals a wall displaying labels peeled from some of the finest vintages in wine and aged bourbon, blending practicality with tasteful drama.
Through the adjoining doorway, the foyer presents a gracious welcome—an ideal hub for greeting guests and directing flow to the dining and living rooms or up to the expansive upper level. Aimee’s interior design and furniture selections honor the period’s character while ensuring the space meets contemporary expectations for comfort and function.

We photographed the newly redesigned offices of Anfinsen Plastic Molding in Oswego, IL — a striking renovation by the interior design team at Key Interiors. The bold use of color, expansive kitchen area, and generous dining tables create an inviting break space that elevates the everyday office experience. This is one of the boldest commercial interior design schemes we’ve seen in a professional setting; visitors and staff alike are raving about the transformation. The project was completed by Key Interior Sr. Designer Jess Bustos and Technical Designer Katherine Burnor. Jess met us on site at Dalmec Corporation as she walked us through the recently completed corporate office renovation. The clean layout and purposeful planning are immediately apparent: a large central bullpen feels both spacious and comfortable, encouraging collaboration without sacrificing individual workflow.
Glass offices use privacy glass for confidential meetings while maintaining visual openness. The generous conference room functions well for client project consultations, corporate sales meetings, and board-level discussions. Material choices are restrained but thoughtful — bold accent colors paired with soft wood tones and neutral flooring create an upscale, professional atmosphere that reads warm rather than austere.
The renovation also includes a sizable, well-equipped break room that works for quick lunches, coffee breaks, or casual impromptu meetings. Staff and company founders alike praised Key Interiors for the superb execution and attention to detail. More images and a deeper look at the project to come.
