Master Bath Suite by Orren Pickell:

Continuing in the beautiful Rustic Home by Orren Pickell, we highlight the mast bath suite, a serene retreat designed for both functionality and luxury. This spacious area features opposing vanities that provide ample space for daily routines, complemented by a large slipper tub perfect for soaking. The walk-in shower adds a modern touch while maintaining a sense of rustic charm.

Expansive windows frame stunning views of the grounds and the distant lake, inviting natural light and a connection to the outdoors. Every element in this suite is handmade, reflecting the finest craftsmanship and attention to detail. The fit and finish are impeccable, creating a seamless balance between comfort and elegance. Altogether, this mast bath suite offers a wonderful space to start your day or unwind beneath the stars.

Seclued Rustic Home by Orren Pickell:

We recently photographed an extraordinary home for Orren Pickell, nestled in a secluded private neighborhood along the lake. What immediately stood out was the remarkable timber construction throughout the house. The large saw-cut timbers, prominently featured on the exterior, seamlessly extend into the interior spaces, creating a cohesive and striking design element.

This rustic timber work imparts a profound sense of permanence—almost as if the home is built to last centuries. The structure feels solid, even overbuilt, conveying strength and durability in every detail.

In particular, the great room showcases these massive timbers alongside large handmade iron collar ties, highlighting both craftsmanship and the raw beauty of natural materials. We look forward to sharing more images from this exceptional project soon.

Shooting Michelle Polay:

Finishing what has truly been a Flashback Friday, here are a few shots of one of my favorite interior designers and her team back in 2015.  Shot on location at Michelles studio, we had a wonderful time, and ended up with as many amazing shots as we did of the team laughing and enjoying the shoot.  Some favorites below.

Shot On Film: Michell 2006:

Flashing back to 2006, here model Michelle in studio waiting for cue.   Being a test shot, it was never really considered for use, but looking at it today, I find it to be a beautiful image. Michelle was wonderful to work with.

Shot-On-Film: Lori:

We get a surprising amount of inquiries from our ‘Shot-On-Film’ images, especially when the subjects are people.  Here are a few shots of Lori from Catfight band back in 2005.  The film used is Fuji Astia 100F color reversal slide film.  We did the shoot at Bruce Starrenburgs LightBox studio.  Thank B!, for the awesome E6 work on these.  I love all of the shots from this day, it was just so much fun!

Perspective:

When shooting a residential exterior, incorporating high-quality drone photography can be essential for builders and architects. This approach reveals perspectives and angles that traditional ground-level shots simply can’t capture, offering a unique view of the property’s scale, design, and relationship to its surroundings.

Perspective and proper elevation are crucial to a successful exterior photoshoot. Drone shots provide a dynamic vantage point that highlights architectural details, landscaping, and site context with precision. Elevation adjustments allow for both sweeping panoramas and tight, detailed compositions, ensuring the images align with the client’s vision.

Here are a few favorite shots from earlier this year that exemplify how shooting at the proper perspective enhances the exterior photoshoot.

Cozy Transitional Interior Design:

Wrapping up the day, we wanted to share a glimpse of the interior of this home we photographed earlier this year. Nestled in a serene wooded setting, the house beautifully balances natural surroundings with a refined transitional interior design. The clean lines, warm textures, and thoughtful layout create a timeless atmosphere that resonates throughout each space.

Stay tuned for more interior shots from this project coming soon.
