We photographed this remodeled bungalow a couple years ago for an interior designer. My favorite space was the dining room. The designer raised and refashioned the fireplace so it could be easily seen from the dining table, turning a functional element into the room’s focal point. The cut Art Deco hardwood surround was painted white, as were the baseboards and crown molding, preserving the home’s original character while giving the space a fresh, updated feel.
