Contemporary Master Suite by JMD -

We photographed this contemporary master suite for high-end builder Jerry Dardick of JMD Builders. This condo has been featured in multiple publications, our featured projects, and blog sites — a true benchmark project where no expense was spared. Every detail, down to the paint on the wall, is bespoke. JMD’s craftsmen designed and executed a one-of-a-kind space.

Some favorites of the suite:

  • Custom framing the bed and integrated lighting that creates layered, ambient illumination
  • Hand-selected finishes and wall treatments chosen to read beautifully in both daylight and artificial light
  • Bespoke closet system with fully integrated storage and refined hardware details
  • Subtle architectural details: recessed niches, flush ceilings, and perfectly proportioned sightlines that elevate the overall composition

The craftsmanship, material nuance, and spatial flow that make this master suite exceptional.

Bespoke Landscaping by Kings:

It’s been a while since our last project feature — we’ve been swamped — but we finally got a day on site with Kings Landscaping and are excited to share the first of those shoots.

Noel King met us at this Georgia-style estate and walked us through their recent work. For this project Kings installed a fine stone knee wall across the front of the house. The craftsmanship of the wall and the matching stone staircase is exceptional: tight joints, consistent coursing, and clean, purposeful lines that complement the home’s brick exterior.

Behind the wall they backfilled and planted a lush garden bed of evergreens, perennials, and low shrubs. The planting softens the formal brick façade and introduces warmth and seasonal interest to the entry sequence, creating an inviting, layered approach to the front door.

Below are a few favorites from the shoot that highlight the masonry detail, the stone stair geometry, and how the planting integrates with the architecture. We appreciated the care Kings took to balance durability and refined aesthetics — a good reminder that well-executed hardscape and thoughtful planting together make an estate feel both grand and welcoming.

Third Floor Walk Up!

We recently photographed a third-floor walk-up attic transformed into a fully realized guest suite—an adult retreat and a spacious children’s wing, complete with two baths, laundry, and a dedicated playroom.

The adult guest room is calm and refined: a large picture window, king-size bed, dresser, twin nightstands and a chaise lounge offer comfort and daylight-filled repose. The room opens to a private bathroom and two generous dressing closets, delivering both privacy and storage.

Across the hall, the children’s suite is expansive and thoughtfully arranged: four full-size beds accommodate sleepovers with ease, and a walk-in playroom is packed with games and toys to keep little guests happily engaged. The large guest bathroom balances function and style with twin vanities, a cast-iron slipper tub, and a walk-in shower. Additional storage and a full-size washer and dryer make the space practical for extended stays.

The renovation reads as if it were always part of the mid-century modern home—an outcome of considered architecture, strong interior design, and meticulous execution. More images and details to come.

The Gathering Room, Transitional Dining by Marietta Calas:

This dining room features a built-in fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and a custom dining table, chairs, and sideboard. Calming, neutral colors and an open floor plan create an effortless flow between kitchen and dining, ideal for entertaining—or for relaxed conversation while food is prepped and drinks are poured.

The fireplace anchors the room, a natural gathering place to sink into after a meal. Picture the warmth, a glass of bourbon in hand on a snowy winter day, framed by large vertical picture windows that bring the outside in. Vaulted ceilings add air and scale, while the custom furnishings provide a refined, cohesive look that feels both comfortable and elevated.

This is the perfect gathering room: intimate enough for conversation, spacious enough for company. More to come.

Luxurious Transitional Family Room:

Marietta Calas transformed an existing home into a luxurious, bespoke retreat where family life, entertaining, and everyday relaxation coexist effortlessly. Every piece of furniture is custom-made to order, delivering exceptional quality and comfort tailored to the space.

A large custom area rug anchors the oversized L-shaped sectional and leather recliner, creating an inviting conversation and lounging area. Custom built-in cabinets with marble backsplash and countertops lend refined elegance to the wet bar, conveniently accessible from both the dining and family rooms. The curated run of custom furniture continues with a generous side table offering abundant storage, while elegant table lamps and a transitional ceiling fan complete the expansive family room.

The open floor plan is ideal for entertaining or quiet visits with houseguests. Morning light pours through the Four Seasons room’s floor-to-ceiling sliding doors, enhancing the home’s warm, lived-in luxury. This is a space designed for enduring enjoyment—sophisticated, comfortable, and thoughtfully composed. More to come.

Beautiful Home Kitchen by Marietta Calas:

One of the striking features of this kitchen by Marietta Calas is the additional height afforded to the cabinets by eliminating a soffit. As the eye travels upward, elegant gold hardware is crowned by smoked glass inserts on the very top cabinets, creating a refined vertical emphasis that draws attention without overwhelming the palette.

Custom granite countertops and a backsplash cut from the same vein deliver a seamless, clean yet striking surface plane. The continuous stone ties the room together and provides a durable, sculptural backdrop for food prep and display.

The black walnut center island, with matching granite, is exceptionally large—designed to accommodate serious dinner preparation while also serving as a casual spot for lunch or an early breakfast. Its scale anchors the kitchen and balances the tall cabinetry.

Commercial-grade appliances are integrated throughout and finished with coordinating gold hardware and knobs, allowing them to read as cohesive elements rather than visual interruptions. This careful integration keeps the focus on materials and form.

The kitchen opens into the dining area and flows into the living space, creating an ideal plan for gathering and conversation—an open sequence that supports both everyday living and entertaining. More to come.

Classic Four Seasons Room by Expressive Interiors:

One of the rooms we enjoyed most while photographing a recent project for Marietta Calas was this incredible four-seasons room. Large, comfortable swivel rockers create an ideal seating area for gazing out through the five-panel floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

It’s the perfect spot for morning coffee or settling into a good book while enjoying uninterrupted outdoor views. Imagine this space after a fresh snowfall — soft white light filtering through the glass, contrast against warm textiles and natural wood tones. Wow. More to come.
