Elegant Entry Way by Marietta Calas:

Just a couple of teaser photos from a recent shoot with interior designer Marietta Calas. We’ll be doing a room-by-room series of this beautiful home, starting here at the front door and this stunning entryway.

Custom light fixtures, curated wall art, a handmade mirror, and a bespoke console table set the tone. The custom chair and the console table were both designed by Marietta, anchoring the space with thoughtful proportion and materiality.

Stay tuned — more rooms and details to come.

Setting Up The Shot - HENGE Showroom Chicago:

A recent assignment for LUMINAIRE a couple of weeks ago had me shooting the HENGE showroom display. Time was tight, so we worked with two cameras to save time and capture more angles. Here, my  business partner Mary Price frames a vertical of a HENGE living room display.

The composition was incredible — clean lines, balanced negative space, and the subtle textures that make HENGE pieces sing on camera. The client loved the final image, and so did I.

Dining Areas by HENGE:

The HENGE display at the LUMINAIRE showroom in Chicago features two dining rooms — striking is the only word that comes to mind. HENGE’s built furniture combines sculptural presence with impeccable craftsmanship; the design, materials, and finish work are beyond imagination.

We were on site to cover the showroom introduction for the who’s who of high-end interior design. It was a lively, well-curated event and a pleasure to document. For now, the architectural images say it all — we’ll post the full gallery soon. More to come!

Living Room by HENGE:

I especially love the solid bronze bookcase and bespoke furnishings by HENGE in the living room display at the Chicago Luminaire showroom. These pieces redefine what high-end interior design can be: sculptural, tactile, and utterly precise. The bronze bookcase, with its weighty presence and refined patina, anchors the space while showcasing an extraordinary attention to detail. HENGE’s custom furnishings complement it perfectly, balancing material richness with a quiet, modern restraint.

After nearly 30 years of photographing interiors, I can say the build quality here is exceptional — every joint, finish, and seam speaks to a level of craftsmanship that elevates the whole room. I’m excited to share more images and perspectives from this shoot soon. More to come.

LUMINAIRE - HENGE - Kitchen Display - Chicago:

We received a recent assignment from Fabrizio Ceppi, marketing genius at Luminaire. Fabrizio asked us to photograph the new HENGE display at the Chicago showroom. The Luminaire team was wonderful to work with (thank you, Duncan), and the images turned out great.

We were tasked with matching HENGE’s existing marketing imagery to maintain brand identity, so our approach focused on clean composition, natural-looking lighting, and precise color fidelity. Below are some favorites from their kitchen display — refined details, material texture, and the sculptural balance HENGE is known for. Amazing.

The Hotel Exterior:

It’s equally important when photographing a Hotel Exterior that you attempt to created a composition that will not only show the scale of the building, but also to create a shot that is inviting to the potential patron.   Here we photographed these buildings for marketing brochures and shot them in light that would complimented the exterior and make the hotel stand apart from others in the area.    Post processing is paramount.

Removing high tension power lines, and poles lets the one see the buildings architecture without interference and allows the images to be used in portfolios and sales brochures.  More to come.
