Some commercial assignments focus on photographing a venue rather than producing images for an architect, designer, or builder. For this project we photographed a large banquet hall intended for marketing use — rental for corporate presentations, trade shows, private parties, and wedding receptions. Because the primary goal was to communicate the room’s scale, we used the widest architectural lens available to capture the full volume of the space and the flexibility of its layouts.
Key considerations for venue photography of this type:
Show overall scale: wide-angle framing from multiple vantage points to convey ceiling height, column spacing, and usable floor area.
Illustrate flexibility: images that demonstrate how the room can be configured for different events — theatre seating, banquet rounds, trade-show booths, and partitioned smaller rooms.
Highlight circulation and sightlines: include shots down aisles and toward staging areas to help event planners assess flow and audience sightlines.
Emphasize finishes and lighting: complementary close-ups of materials, custom millwork, and integrated lighting to support the larger context images.
Provide useful compositions for marketing: horizontal and vertical crops for web, print brochures, and social media; clean negative space for overlaying text or logos.
The result is a set of images that clearly communicate capacity, flexibility, and atmosphere — practical, accurate visuals that make it easy for prospective renters to imagine their event in the space.
